On Friday evening, December 5, 2008, Baytown Police responded to an accident scene in the 300 block of South State Highway 146 (Business) at approximately 6:28 p.m.
Forty-seven year old Baytown resident Samual Marlin was driving his black 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on South State Highway 146 (Business) approaching the intersection of South Alexander Drive. Witnesses advised a white Chevrolet pickup was at the stop sign on South Alexander Drive and made a left turn (northbound) in front of the motorcycle. The pickup pulled into the intersection and struck the motorcycle knocking it over. The pickup then drove over the motorcycle and the operator of the motorcycle.
The pickup fled the scene northbound on South State Highway 146 (Business). Marlin was airlifted to Herman Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
