On Monday, December 9, Baytown police officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in reference to an aggravated assault incident.
· The complainant stated that a 36-year-old male from Baytown was assaulted in the head with a bat.
· Baytown EMS Medic #4 was on scene, and the male was life-flighted to a hospital to treat his injuries. His condition is unknown at this time.
· No further injuries were reported.

2024-64341 – Theft
The Baytown Police Department arrests four Alabama residents in connection with a merchandise theft. Arrested were 22-year-old Jerome Phillips, 20-year-old Alexus Russell, 22-year-old Earl James, and 22-year-old Trendon Jones. Phillips faces a 3rd-degree felony for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and a Class A misdemeanor for Flight/Escape. Russell, James, and Jones each face a 3rd-degree felony charge for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
On Monday evening, December 9th, at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers responded to theft in progress at a store located at 6300 block of Garth Rd. When officers approached the suspects, one male ran behind the store into the woods. A perimeter was established, and a K9 unit began tracking the suspect, who eventually surrendered to officers.
Once all the suspects were in custody, officers found numerous stolen items in their vehicle. There were five suspects in total, but one was released at the scene. It was later discovered that the suspects had been on a stealing spree in and around the Houston area. In total, over $6,000 worth of stolen goods with tags were recovered from stores including Ulta, Lululemon, and Bath and Body Works. There were also other items without tags or from unknown stores. This case is under investigation, additional information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
