(01.05.24)Update/ Official Baytown Police press release regarding shooting — On December 29, 2023 at approximately 11 p.m., Baytown Police responded to a call reporting a fight between two males at the 700 block of Gresham Ave. Enroute, a separate call informed officers of a shooting at the same location. Upon arrival, officers found a male, later identified as the gunshot victim, and a witness. The victim was provided with initial medical assistance while the witness was escorted away from the scene. The suspect was quickly apprehended, and the scene was secured for further investigation. Preliminary information suggests an altercation at a party led to the shooting. The Baytown Police Department is actively investigating the incident.
