10.19.23 Police Officer Struck by Fleeing Vehicle

Baytown Police arrested 19-year-old League City resident, Gloria Rosemberg.
Rosemberg was charged with Aggravated Assault Against Public Servant and Evading in a Motor Vehicle.
 On October 17, 2023, approximately 2:00 am, officers responded to an in-progress theft at an apartment complex in the 2800 block of W. Baker.
 Caller stated suspects were breaking into vehicles at this location.
Upon arrival, officers observed the suspects running, attempting to evade arrest.
 The suspects got into a vehicle in an attempt to continue their evading
 and in so doing, struck one of the responding officers. 
 The officer was able to get out of the direct path; however, he was struck by the left side of the vehicle operated by the suspects.
  Once backup officers were able to confirm the officer was not critically injured, responding units engaged a vehicle pursuit, resulting in the apprehension of the driver,
later identified as Rosemberg.
K9 Hero was utilized in the apprehension of the suspect. Officers on scene were unable to locate the two other suspects. The officer that was struck was treated at the ER and was later released.
This case is under investigation, no other information is known at this time; additional information will be provided as soon as it is available for release.
