****UPDATE – 8-26-20 @ 3:25 p.m.**** Early this morning, as result of the injuries she sustained during this tragic and senseless shooting, Ms. Payne succumbed to her injuries. Upon learning of Ms. Payne’s passing, Homicide Detectives contacted the Chambers County District Attorney’s Office and the charges against Mr. Posey have been upgraded to Murder.
