2020-27594 Houston man shot during altercation at apartment complex Rick Davis City Manager On June 2 nd at 10:02 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Rosemont Apartments, located in the 6000 block of Garth Road. The caller advised that a male had knocked on her door and when she answered the door, she found a male standing outside who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Baytown Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and thus far in the investigation detectives have learned the suspect was at an apartment in the complex visiting a female when another male arrived at the apartment. The female resident of the apartment went outside to talk to the male, who was an exboyfriend, and at one point the ex-boyfriend forced his way inside the apartment brandishing a handgun, presumably to locate and confront the other male. Once inside the apartment the ex-boyfriend forced his way into the bedroom and confronted the suspect, who was now hiding in the bathroom and armed as well. Upon seeing the ex-boyfriend was armed, the suspect fired at least one round at him, striking him in the torso. The ex-boyfriend then fled the apartment, with the suspect firing several more rounds at him, striking him multiple times in the arm. The ex-boyfriend was eventually able to make it to another apartment, and upon knocking on that door he was allowed inside and police were called. As officers arrived on scene, they located the suspect in the parking lot and took him into custody without incident. Detectives continue to investigate to determine what, if any, charges will be filed in this case. The ex-boyfriend, who was subsequently air lifted to Hermann Hospital, is expected to survive.
