02.03.20 Two Stories: Shooting and Robbery

2020-6538 – On February 2nd at 7:24 a.m., officers responded to the area of Stonebrook and Berkley Court in reference to a shooting.  Upon arrival officers learned that the complainant, a 30 year old Baytown man, had been in a verbal altercation with another male, a 31 year old Baytown man, and at some point the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired multiple times at the complainant, striking him at least once in the arm. The complainant was able to flag down an off duty officer and advised him of his injuries. The officer was able to detain the suspect until other officers arrived. The suspect was detained and transported to the Baytown Police Department. The two men know each other and it appears the dispute may stem from a past issue over a female. Based on facts uncovered during the ensuing investigation and the fact that the complainant did not wish to pursue charges, all charges were declined by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

2020-6672 – On February 3rd at 4:16 a.m., officers responded to a report of a Robbery at the Glazed Donuts located in the 2700 block of Market. Upon arrival officers learned that the victim was taking out the trash and as he exited the back of the store he was struck over the head and the suspect demanded his money, wallet and keys. The suspect then forced the complainant back into the business where he took the cash from the register as well. A few moments alter the suspect was seen with a second suspect entering the complainants vehicle, which was parked at the business, in what appears to be a burglary or auto theft attempt. Both suspects would eventually leave on foot. Detectives are investigating.
