While enroute officers were advised that the caller and other members of the household were hiding in a back room and someone else was inside the house. Upon arrival officers encountered a male, later identified as 42 year old Enrique Morales, standing in the front doorway. Unsure who the male was, officers ordered him to walk towards them down a short flight of stairs however he refused to do so, telling them no and taking up a fighting stance with clinched fists towards the officers all while holding a set of keys between his fingers as if to use them as a weapon. Officers noted that Enrique appeared intoxicated, with slurred speech and blood shot eyes. As officers attempted to detain Enrique he resisted as he pulled away from them and began reaching into his jacket pocket, which caused officers to take Enrique to the ground, where he continued to resist. At this time officers dispersed pepper spray to Enrique’s face and were able to take him into custody. Once officers were able to talk to the complainant(s) they learned that Enrique, who lived at the residence, had come home intoxicated and began knocking on the door which scared the other family members, prompting them to hide in a back room and call the police. Enrique was transported to the Baytown Jail where he was booked and charged with Interfering with Public Duties through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Mug shot attached.
