2019- 73737 Baytown Police investigating shooting death of 59-year-old man On Monday, December 23rd, 2019 at 10:49 p.m., Baytown Police responded to a “shots fired” call at Sterling Bay Apartments located in the 4600 block of Quail Hollow Drive. While officers were responding to the scene, a 911-call came in from a female who advised her husband had been shot. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the victim, identified as 59-year-old David Lavigne, lying inside the doorway of his apartment suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Mr. Lavigne was unresponsive so officers began administering CPR until they were relieved a short time later by paramedics. Mr. Lavigne was subsequently air lifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries. Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and during their preliminary investigation they learned that someone knocked on the apartment door and upon Mr. Lavigne opening the door, he was shot multiple times. Homicide Detectives are investigating and ask that anyone who may have any information about this case to please contact the Baytown Police Department Homicide Unit at 281-420-7181 or Baytown Crimestoppers at 281-427-TIPS (8477). The caller will remain anonymous and should the information lead to a suspect being arrested and charged, the tipster could receive a reward of up to $5000.00.
