2019-57856 – On October 2nd at 6:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting that had occurred at the O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in the 4400 block of Decker in which the victim had been transported to Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital by a friend. Responding officers contacted the victim at the hospital and while speaking with him they learned he had been at the O’Reilly’s to sell a cell phone to someone he had met through social media, that he believed to be a female. He went on to say they had arranged to meet at the O’Reilly’s and after arriving there he contacted the female, who had gotten out of a silver passenger car. When the victim went to meet with the female, a male driver exited the car. The victim then provided them the phone, however the suspects refused to pay the victim, at which point the victim attempted to take the phone back and as a result the male suspect pulled a gun and fired multiple shots at the victim, striking him several times. The suspects then fled the area in what was believed to be a gray Chevrolet Impala. The victim was subsequently air lifted to Herman Hospital in Houston where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive The male suspect was described as heavy set Hispanic male with a black beard and short hair. The female was described as Hispanic, slim build and long black hair. Detectives are investigating.
