Official BPD Press Release:
2019-48455 – On August 16th at 10:41 p.m., officers responded to an assault with a weapon call at the Pine Villa Mobile Home Park in the 2800 Block of Massey Tompkins. Arriving officers found a 34 year old male laying on the ground, bleeding heavily from the arm and side from an apparent gunshot wound. The injury was severe enough that one of the officers had to apply a tourniquet to 34 year olds arm as a life saving measure. The 34 year old was subsequently flown to Hermann Hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries. During the course of the investigation it was learned that the 34 year old and his wife had been arguing, which eventually turned physical. During the physical altercation the 34 year old was physically assaulting his wife, which prompted the 16 year old son to attempt to intervene. This resulted in the 34 year old then assaulting the 16 year old, allegedly hitting and chocking him. The 16 year old ultimately retrieved a shot gun and fired at least two times at the 34 year old, striking him in the arm and side. after consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office charges were declined against the 16 year old, however charges of Family Violence Assault -Impeding breathing are pending against the 34 year old, who remains hospitalized.
UPDATE: IN A PRELIMINARY STATEMENT FROM LT. STEVE DORRIS — A mother and father were fighting. In an effort to stop the father from hitting the mother, their 16-year-old son shot the father in the arm with a shotgun. No charges were filed. Check back for official press release.

Around 10:45 pm Friday night, August 16, Baytown police, EMS and Fire and Rescue responded to a call at Pine Villa Mobile Home Park in the 2800 block of Massey Tompkins in Baytown. There they found a male who had been shot. The victim was airlifted to a Houston hospital. Several individuals were taken into custody; at least one of them a juvenile who sustained a broken nose at the Park. The juvenile was treated by medics after arriving at the police department.
