2019-29970 – On May 22nd at 8:35 p.m., officers responded to a welfare concern at a residence in the 4800 block of Burning tree. Call remarks indicated that a suicidal and intoxicated subject was armed with a shotgun and had in fact shot out the windows of his own vehicle just moments earlier and possibly had gone back inside the residence. Earlier in the day officers responded to the same residence due to the same subject making threats to harm himself to family members. In that call officers contacted the subject and at which time he advised he was not wanting to harm himself nor did he want any medial help. The subject claimed to simply be upset due to marital issues. Upon arrival on this (second) call, due to the call remarks, officers began attempting to call the subject out of the residence by way of their patrol vehicle’s pa system, which was successful as the subject exited the residence and complied with officers commands and he was taken into custody without further incident. During the investigation officers learned that the subject had made concerning remarks to his family which made hem concerned for his safety. Based on this and the irrational action of the subject officers transported him to the Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital where he was committed under an Emergency Detention Order for psychological evaluation.
