2019-26070 – On May 3rd at 9:22 p.m., officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the 3300 block of Rollingbrook, behind the Creekside Apartments. As officers asked the driver of the vehicle, identified as 39 year old Tiffany Ellis of Baytown, to exit the vehicle she placed the vehicle into gear and accelerated away at a high rate of speed. At about the same time the officers were advised by dispatch that Ellis had several outstanding felony warrants. Officers then pursued Ellis, who was now outbound on Decker, driving recklessly in and out of traffic and even stuck a curb as she made a U-turn at Baker Road, and headed inbound. During the chase Ellis began throwing what was believed to be small baggies of narcotics out the window before she exited Rollingbrook where she again made a U-turn, striking the median and retuned outbound on Decker at a high rate of speed. Ellis ultimately made her way to Interstate 10 where she continued her reckless driving, nearly striking several cars as she attempted to elude officers and ultimately traveling west on the east bound feeder of Interstate 10. At this point, given the fact officers new who the suspect was and out of concern for the safety of the public due to Ellis’ reckless driving while being pursued, officers decided to terminate the pursuit. Additional charges of Felony Evading Arrest are expected to be filed on Ellis, however in the meantime if anyone knows the whereabouts of Tiffany Ellis they are asked to contact the Baytown Police Department at 281-422-8371 or Baytown Crimestoppers at 281-427-TIPS. Mug shot attached.
