2019-23376 – Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon
On Monday, April 22nd at approximately 12:50 a.m., Baytown Police responded to Dirty D’s Tavern, located at 2717 N. Alexander Drive, in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and were informed by patrons that the two shooting victims and suspect were still on location in the rear patio. Officers proceeded to the rear patio where they located the two victims. The first victim, a black male, was flown by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to his front chest and a superficial wound to his stomach area. The second victim, a white male, sustained two gunshot wounds to his left and right legs and was transported to Memorial Herman Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officers located and apprehended Dorian Terry without further incident.
Witnesses told police that Terry originally entered the establishment and began soliciting sex from female patrons but was chased off by several male patrons. Shortly thereafter, Terry returned with a handgun and began firing randomly in the patio area, striking the two men. Terry was wrestled to the ground by patrons and later transported to Bayshore Hospital due to the non-life threatening injuries. Officers searched the area and recovered a small, semi-automatic handgun which was confirmed by witnesses to be the weapon used in the shooting.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted the charge of Aggravated Assault with a Weapon.
