2019- 18747 – On March 31st at 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 5100 block of Peppermill. Upon arrival officers learned three males went to an address on Peppermill to purchase a pair of shoes from an individual. That individual met with the trio, who were in a white Jeep, outside the residence on Peppermill. While conducting the transaction with the driver of the Jeep, identified as 39 year old Raul Del Rio of Baytown, the seller of the shoes pulled out his wallet to give him change and when he did Del Rio grabbed the wallet and fled the scene. At this time a friend of the seller, identified as 19 year old Travis Menifee of Baytown, reportedly exited the residence and began shooting at the Jeep. In doing so it appears one of those rounds struck a passenger of the Jeep in the shoulder. Del Rio then drove to the Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital where he dropped off the victim and the other passenger before fleeing the scene. The gunshot victim was later transported to Herman Hospital to be treated for his injuries and at last report was in stable condition. Del Rio is currently wanted on unrelated felony charges and Menifee on unrelated misdemeanor charges and as such the Baytown Police are asking anyone who may know the whereabouts of either of these men to please contact the Baytown Police Department at 281-422-8371 or Baytown Crimestoppers at 281-427-TIPS. This case is still under investigation. Photos attached.
