Official Press Release:
2018-49177 – on August 22nd at 1:12 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 3400 block of Illinois. Upon arrival officers found two males, an 18 year old and a 23 year old, both suffering from gunshot wounds. During the initial investigation detectives learned that the two were reportedly walking in the alley way when a dark colored car, possibly a Mustang, drove down the alley and fired several shots at the two men. The 19 year old was struck at least one time in the torso and the 23 year old was struck multiple times in the arm. Both victims were flown to Herman Hospital in Houston to be treated for their injuries. The 23 year old underwent surgery for his injuries, however at last report he was out of surgery, and both are expected to survive as their injuries were not considered life threatening. Detectives are actively investigating and hope to be able to talk to the victims, who are both still hospitalized, later today to get some clearer details about what transpired in the alleyway.
This shooting does not appear to be related to the Pinehurst shooting, of which there have been no new developments
