2018-47435 – On August 13th officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 4200 block of West Baker. Upon initiating the stop on the vehicle the two occupants a male passenger, later identified as 34 year old William Murphy of Baytown, began ducking down and appeared to be concealing something. While the driver, identified as and 31 year old Lawana Hudson of Baytown, did not stop immediately as she slow rolled through the parking lot of the West Town Shopping Center and also appeared to be attempting to conceal something. One the vehicle stopped the two continue to dig around in the car and refused to comply with the officer’s commands to show their hands and at one point the Mr. Murphy appeared to ingest something. After several minutes of refusing to comply with the commands of the officer, the two finally complied and were taken into custody. During a search of the vehicle officers located as small amount of marijuana as well as several credit cards with other people’s names on them. Both subjects were checked out by EMS due to the concern they may have ingested narcotics. Both were cleared by EMS and Mr. Murphy was transported to the jail and booked on charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Ms. Hudson was transported to the Jail and booked on an outstanding local warrant. Detectives are currently investigating the credit card portion of the case. Mug shots attached.
