Update: DPS Press Release — Concerning the fatality that occurred on I-10 East at FM 3180 —
DPS Press Release: According to Sergeant Standifer with the Department of Public Safety, a husband and wife were arguing when the wife got into her Chrysler 300 in an attempt to leave. The husband held onto the car as she sped away. The husband, identified as 35-year-old Sean Kyle O’keffe, lost his grip and fell on the road, only to be run over by another vehicle. The fatal accident occurred at FM 3180 near the 464 marker.
2018-27056 – On May 9th at 6:36 a.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a major accident in the 2000 block of Tri City Beach Road where it was reported that the vehicle had stuck a tree and it appeared to have occurred hours earlier. Upon arrival officers found the vehicle, which was cold to the touch indicating he vehicle had been there for some time, along with a deceased female in the driver seat. The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling north in the 1700 block of Tri City Beach Road when it came through a curve in the 1700 block, leaving the roadway striking a large tree. It is unclear at this point what time the accident actually occurred but evidence suggests that it occurred at least a few hours prior to being found. The driver has been identified as 24 year old Christina Dees of Baytown. The cause of the accident and whether or not alcohol or drugs played a role are still under investigation.

In our second story, an accident occurred on I-10 East at 3180 (Chambers County). The driver of the vehicle shown in this video left the freeway and crossed over the feeder road and careened into a company truck. The driver was taken by ambulance to the hospital. No other information is available at the posting of this story.
