05.08.18 Major Accident on W. Baker Road Tuesday Evening (Update: Press Release)

2018-26449 – On May 8th at 4:47 p.m., officers responded to a report of a major accident in the 3700 block of West Baker Road involving two vehicles, a Ford Explorer and a Chevrolet Malibu, in which the Explorer struck the Malibu from behind causing the Explorer to roll over. Reports were that the driver of the Ford Explorer had fled the scene of the accident on foot and was at the Village Lane Apartments. Responding officers went to the apartments and located the driver of the Explorer, a 23 year old Channelview man, who had sustained a severe head injury and a an arm injury. EMS was summoned to the scene and once they arrived it was determined that the 23 year old driver needed to be flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston to be treated for his injuries. At the crash scene officers also learned there was a passenger in the Explorer who was also injured and was transported to Memorial Herman as well by ambulance. Police are still investigating to determine if alcohol or drugs were involved as a contributing factor in the accident.

Baytown police, EMS and Fire and Rescue responded to the scene of a major accident on W. Baker Road Tuesday evening.  Three people were injured when, according information gathered at the scene, a speeding SUV t hit a car.  The driver of the SUV was airlifted to a Houston hospital.  Check back for the official press release.
