2018-23247 – Motor Vehicle Accident
On Friday, April 20th at 4:00 a.m., Baytown Police responded to the 6400 block of Decker Drive in reference to a major accident. The officer made contact with a witness who said he saw a truck on fire and stopped to assist. He observed a man in the driver seat and was able to remove him prior to the truck becoming completely engulfed in flames. The driver, 35 year-old Luis Mejia, had sustained a head injury and was transported to Memorial-Hermann Hospital via Life-Flight. The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle struck a tree head on.

Baytown’s emergency response teams responded to the scene of a major accident on the Decker Driver feeder road around 4 am Friday morning. The driver of a pickup careened into a tree and his vehicle became fully engulfed in flames. He was airlifted to a Houston hospital. Check back for the official Baytown police press release.
