Official Press Release from HCSO: Details: On Friday, April 6, 2018, at approximately 7pm, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting scene at 1118 Bayou Drive in east Harris County. It was reported that a physical altercation took place at that location between two adult males. During the altercation a juvenile male retrieved a pistol and shot one the males. The victim was transported by private auto to a nearby gas station where he was attended to by EMS and pronounced dead at that location. The juvenile fled the scene and has not been located.

On Friday night, April 6, around 10 pm, law enforcement responded to the scene of a shooting in Channelview, TX. The shooting occurred at a gas station at the corner of Monmouth Drive and I-10 West. According to information gathered at the scene, two men, a stepfather and his stepson got into an altercation. The twelve-year-old son of the stepson, who was present, retrieved a gun and shot the stepfather to death. The twelve-year-old then fled into a nearby wooded area. At the posting of this story, law enforcement was searching for the twelve-year-old. Check back for the official HCSO press release.
2018-20215 – On April 5th at 6:00 p.m. officers rolled up on a motorcycle accident on the Spur 330 Flyover at the Hwy 146 split. During the investigation is it was determined the rider of the motorcycle, a 35 year old Laporte man, was traveling south on Spur 330 approaching the Hwy 146 split. The motorcycle was poised to go north on Hwy 146 when the rider realized he need to actually go south on Hwy 146. The rider attempted to change into the Hwy 146 South lanes and as he did his motorcycle struck the center divider. The motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet and as a result suffered a head injury, however he was standing, conscious and able to talk with officers and EMS personnel on the scene. The rider was cited for Striking a Fixed Object and transported by EMS to Bayshore Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
