Audio Correction: 800 block of Schilling, NOT the 1800 block.”
2018 – 7975 – On February 9th at 1:35 a.m., officers responded to the Centennial Square Apartments in the 800 block of Schilling in reference to a burglary in progress. The initial information was that the complainant had shot at two intruders and had inadvertently shot his dog in the process. Upon officers arrival they found the complainant to be uninjured but suffering from some form of mental disorder. During the investigation officers determined that the complainant had actually shot his 12 gauge shotgun in his apartment between 5-7 times several hours earlier, at approximately 7:00 p.m. The complainant told officers he accidentally shot his dog in the process, which was grievously injured and subsequently turned over the Animal Control. The complainant appeared to be hallucinating and as such was transported to Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital for mental evaluation. Officers determined that the alleged intruders were actually a result of hallucinations the complainant was suffering from. The complainant was otherwise uninjured.
The call this morning was a result of the wife coming home and finding the blood from the dog from the above call. When she arrived home and found her husband and dog not there and blood on the floor she contacted the police. Officers contacted her and she was advised of the incident with her husband and where he was.
