2017-70997 – On December 11th at 10:05 p.m., officers were dispatched
to the Briarwood Apartment in the 1700 block of James Bowie
in reference to a robbery. Upon arrival officers contacted the complainant,
a pizza delivery driver, who advised he was at the complex to deliver a pizza
to a specific apartment. As the complainant approached the apartment
he noticed the door was ajar and there was a black male in a hoodie
standing in the doorway of the apartment and another black male wearing a hoodie
and a red bandanna was standing inside the apartment. The suspect with the red bandanna
then charged the complainant and attacked him, knocking him to the ground and assaulting
him. The two males then took the pizza and the money out of the complainant’s pockets
and fled the scene. During the ensuing investigation officers located pizza boxes
at another apartment that had the apartment number on the tag for the apartment
where the robbery took place. As officers made contact at that apartment they
contacted two subjects, 17 year old Daylon Gordon of Baytown and a 14 year old juvenile.
Officers noted that these two subjects matched the description of the suspects in the
robbery and while talking with them officers called the phone number from which the
pizza order came from. Upon doing so officers noted that the juvenile’s cell phone began to ring.
This confirmed for the officers that these were the two suspects in the robbery and both were
placed under arrest and charged with Aggravated Robbery – Victim over 65 through the
Harris County District Attorney’s Office. The juvenile was subsequently turned over to the
Juvenile Probation facility in Houston while Mr. Gordon was booked into the Baytown Jail.
