On Saturday, August 19, 2017 a chemical spill occurred near Anahuac on I-10 West. Traffic came to a halt but no injuries were sustained. On Sunday, August 20, the operator of a motorcycle attempted to pass a car on the feeder road of I-10 West near Thompson Road when his bike hit the curb and he lost control. The motorcycle ignited in flames and the operator of the bike was airlifted to a Houston hospital.
