An fatal accident involving 3 vehicles occurred around 3 am this moring, Monday, July 24, 2017. The accident occurred on I-10 approximately 4 miles west of Winnie, Texas. In a statement from Sgt. Standford with Texas Department of Public Safety, two vehicles were traveling eastbound on I-10 when a freight liner driven by a 52 year old male struck the back of one of the vehicles. That vehicle ignited in a fiery blaze and the occupant died inside the vehicle. The identity of the occupant, whether male or female, has not been ascertained as of the posting of this story. It’s not clear at this point what amount of damage was sustained by the second eastbound vehicle The driver of the freight liner had a male passenger in his vehicle who sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at Christos St. Elizabeth Hospital.
