Police seeking armed robbery suspects
On April 9th at 10:55 a.m., officers responded to a robbery in the 2900
block of Market Street. Upon arrival officers discovered the store clerk had
been shot multiple times during the robbery.
During the initial investigation Detectives learned that two black males
exited a silver 2011-2012 Chevrolet Malibu, before entering the store.
Once in the store both suspects displayed handguns with one of the males
jumping the counter while the other stood by the door as a look out. At
some point during the robbery the clerk appears to have fought back with
the suspects, at which time both suspects fired multiple rounds from their
handguns, striking the victim multiple times.
During the course of the investigation it was also learned that just moments
before the robbery, a third black male had exited the same vehicle and
entered the store, making a purchase, possibly casing the store. This male
then exits the store, gets in the driver’s seat of the suspect vehicle and
drives around the block, at which time the two robbers exited the vehicle
and approached the store on foot.
The two suspects that brandished weapons are both described as black
males, approximately 5’10 tall, one weighing approximately 200 pounds
and wearing a gray hoodie, baggy shorts and a red hat. The second suspect
weighed approximately 250 pounds and was wearing a white hoodie, dark
shorts and a black mask covering his face.
The victim was flown to a Houston area hospital to be treated for his
injuries and at last report was in stable condition.
