2017-15648 – On March 13th at 11:15 p.m. Baytown Officers responded to the area of Interstate 10 and Spur 330 in reference to a stolen 2011 Honda Fit passenger car, stolen out of Chambers County, which was being followed by the owner of the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on it, however the vehicle refused to pull over and a pursuit ensured. The vehicle led officers west on Interstate 10 to the area of I-10 and Normandy, where the suspects turned around and fled back towards Baytown. Once back in the Baytown area, officers were able to successfully deploy Road Spikes, disabling the passenger side tires of the suspect vehicle. This caused the vehicle to ultimately came to a stop as it turned down a dead end road in McNair. All three occupants of the vehicle were detained and a search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating a handgun inside the vehicle. The driver, 17 year old Dionte Manning of Baytown, was transported to the Baytown Jail where he was charged with Felony Evading in a Motor Vehicle. The two juvenile passengers were subsequently released to parents without charges.
