There have been three separate mishaps involving Goose creek school buses within the last 24 hours. On Thursday, January 26, there were two accidents involving buses and today, January 27, 2017. When it rains, its pours.A GCCISD bus caught fire on 330 this morning due to a mechanical failure. A single driver was transporting the bus to the mechanic when it caught fire. There were no students on the bus and the driver was not injured. There are no other vehicles involved.
Yesterday, two buses were involved in minor accidents.
A Texas Pride Utilities truck backed into one of our buses on Nolan Road. There were students on the bus, but there were no injuries.
A bus ran into the back of a car on Archer yesterday. There were no students on the bus and there were no injuries. End of quote.
Another source informed us a bus driver was driving the bus with children on board when she noticed something was wrong with the bus. She pulled the bus over at Baytown Jr. High and radioed the mechanic shop to bring another bus to transport the kids. Shortly afterwards,, as the bus was being taken to the shop, it began smoking and caught on fire.
