Three people shot during altercation
On November 21st at 5:57 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call in
the 400 block of William Avenue. Responding officers were unable to
determine where the shots came from at that time. However, approximately
thirty minutes later police received reports that three gunshot victims had
been brought into Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital by personal
vehicle.
Upon contacting the shooting victims, officers were able to determine the
shooting had occurred at a residence in the 400 block of William Avenue.
During the course of the investigation detectives learned that two of the
injured subjects, 17 year old Jorge Cabrera and 20 year old Kristopher
Cisneros, were at the residence when the third injured subject, 19 year old
Anthony Reyes along with 19 year old Brian Garcia, who was not injured
during the shooting, arrived at the residence. At some point an altercation
broke out between the four subjects, resulting in gunfire being exchanged.
As a result of the gunfire Mr. Reyes was struck multiple times and was air
lifted to Houston Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he remainsin critical
condition. Mr. Cisneros was also struck by the gunfire and was air lifted as
well, but was treated and released. Mr. Cabrera was struck once and was
treated at Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital. Mr. Garcia, who had
transported Reyes to the hospital, was detained and transported to the
Baytown Police Department to be interviewed by detectives.
Detectives are currently investigating the incident and will be conducting
interviews and follow up investigation well into the day tomorrow to
determine who will be charged in the shooting as well as what charges will
be filed.
