2016- 49492 Baytown man arrested after fatal accident On September 3 rd at 2:25 a.m, officers responded to a report of a major accident at the intersection of Garth Road and Decker Drive, involving a Chevrolet Camaro and a Chevrolet pickup truck. Upon arrival officers learned that citizens had a male subject, the driver of the pickup, detained nearby after he was seen running from the scene of the accident. The male subject, identified as 23 year old Raul Aaron Tadeo of Baytown, resisted the officers as they attempted to take him into custody, which led to officers having to tase Mr. Tadeo before he could be taken into custody. The driver of the Camaro, 20 year old Cassandra Jimenez of Baytown, was transported to Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The passenger of the Camaro, a 21 year old Baytown man, was not seriously injured and is cooperating with the police investigation. Baytown Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Assault Team are currently investigating to determine the cause of the accident. A warrant was issued to obtain a blood sample from Mr. Tadeo to determine if he was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Mr. Tadeo was later transported to the Baytown Municipal Jail where charges of Felony Failure to Stop and Render Aid and Driving While Intoxicated are pending. Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to please come forward and contact the Baytown Police Department.
