At 2:30 this morning, an officer stopped a truck for a traffic violation near the intersection of Thompson Road and IH10. The driver, 32 year old Baytown man Richard Macyko, was found to have an improvised explosive device under the seat of his truck. The device consisted of a small section of metal pipe containing a flammable powder. Bomb technicians with the Bay Area Regional Bomb Squad rendered the device safe. Macyko is currently in the Baytown municipal jail where he is facing Felony 3 Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
