Official Baytown Police Press Release:
On October 5th at 7:15 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call at The Avenue Lofts located in the 700 block of West Texas. Detectives determined the residents of one of the lofts, two males ages 22 and 23, were in the process of selling $1,000 worth of marijuana to three suspects when they were shot by them. The suspects, described as adult black males, fled the scene in a maroon, four-door Nissan passenger car. Both victims were flown to a Houston hospital where they are expected to recover. Detectives obtained and served a search warrant on the loft earlier this morning to collect evidence. A number of witness interviews were conducted and detectives hope to speak with the shooting victims when their health allows it.
Again, this investigation is ongoing, no arrests have been made and the victims are expected to recover. If I obtain additional information today I will share it with you in a timely manner.
