Benny and Pat Holmes of Baytown, Texas, are the owners and producers of two internet news programs — Baytown Cops and On The Scene News. For many years, they have carried a vision of producing a local news program for the city of Baytown. The Holmes first began airing a weekly news program in l984; this program was televised on Group W Cable Channel 14 in Baytown. The program ran for one year before being discontinued due to many challenges. Now after over 20 years, they have activated their vision again, but this time on the world-wide web with plans to include television in the future.

“We are living in a time when technology has exceeded all that anyone could ever imagine,” says Pat Holmes. “The opportunity to gather vital news events and upload the events to the computer in video format for public viewing around the world is an opportunity we did not want to miss.” “News that can be viewed makes a difference and holds the interest of the viewer,” says Benny Holmes.

The Baytown Cops program is a special program that highlights the Baytown Police officers as they daily risk their lives in the line of duty to protect the citizens of Baytown and maintain peace; footage for this program is gathered by our news personnel as they ride with a Baytown officer on duty.   The program also covers Baytown Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services.  On the Scene News covers local news events for Baytown, and includes coverage of City Hall with a special feature program hosted by the Mayor entitled From the Mayor’s Desk.

The Holmes are both ministers of the gospel and have been involved in outreach ministry for over 20 years. Ministry events include hospital ministry, prison ministry, 2 weekly Bible studies, and church ministry. They also sponsor 4 to 5 special ministry events each year, as well as a yearly group cruise.
