News Highlights–3 Incidents

On Monday, January 25, 2010, Baytown Fire Department and Police responded to the scene of  a train car derailment; nine cars were involved.  The incident occurred on Wade Road, located off  I-10 West in Bayown, Texas.  One of the nine  railcars contained sulfuric acid.  The  sulfuric acid remained contained inside the car.  HazMat  (Hazardous Materials) teams also responded to the scene.  The railcars were erected upright around 10:15 p.m. that same night.

A City of Baytown dump truck accidentally dumped gravel mixed with cement on Massey Tompkins.   The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 27, 2010.  The spill was quickly cleaned up by city workers.

A minor accident occurred at the intersection of McKinney Road and Lanier on Thursday night, January 28, 2010.   EMS was called to the scene when one of the victims complained of a leg injury.
