On Friday evening December 5th 2008, Baytown Police responded to an accident scene in the 300 block of South State Hwy 146 (Business) at approximately 6:28 P.M.

Forty-seven year old Baytown resident Samuel Marlin was driving his black 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on South State Hwy 146 (Business) approaching the intersection of South Alexander Drive.

Witnesses advised a White Chevrolet pickup was at the stop sign on South Alexander Drive, and made a left turn (northbound) in front of the motorcycle. The pickup pulled into the intersection and struck the motorcycle, knocking it over.  The pickup then drove over the motorcycle and the operator of the motorcycle.  The pickup fled the scene northbound on South State Hwy 146 (Business).  Marlin was air lifted to Herman Hospital where he later died due to his injuries.

The fleeing vehicle was described as a White Chevrolet pickup with tinted windows, possibly a 2000 to 2004 year model.  There should be damage to the front of the pickup.  Witnesses advised there may have been a female driving the pickup.  Witnesses also described the pickup was driving erratically.

The same evening, Friday December 5th 2008, Baytown Police responded to a body lying in the roadway in the 2500 block of J B Lefevre Road at approximately 7:40 P.M.  When Officers arrived, they located a 14 year old white male with a severe head injury.  The 14 year old was immediately transported to San Jacinto Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Baytown Officers believe the 14 year old had been skateboarding at the Unidad Park on J.B. Lefevre Road.  He left the park and told friends he was going to watch the City of Baytown Christmas parade.  As he left the park on his skateboard, he was apparently struck by an unknown vehicle.  The vehicle fled the scene of the accident.
